Spree Extension Development

Screen shot of Spree Extension Development

We were commissioned by Bluestorm New Media to create a number of extensions for Spree, an open source ecommerce platform written in Rails.

The extensions required included a bulk product image upload facility, a CSV product import tool, an accessories extension, a product comparison facility, and a top selling product extension.

Spree is an easy application to write extensions for, especially due to the number of "hooks" available. We would definitely recommend Spree to any of our other clients.

An interesting part of the project happened when we used uploadify for the first time within a Rails project. Fortunately we found a very useful article on how to fix the session handling issues.
